The Best Granola Recipe

Updated: Apr 22, 2020

Simple and makes a ton. Tastes great as cereal, on top of yogurt and in a smoothie bowl. Enjoy one of the best granola recipes I've found to date.

Homemade granola in a bowl and sprinkled on a table

Ingredients

3 cups old-fashioned rolled oats

1 cup hulled raw pumpkin seeds

1 cup hulled raw sunflower seeds

1 cup unsweetened coconut chips

1 1/4 cup raw pecans, left whole or coarsely chopped

3/4 cup pure maple syrup

1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil

1/2 cup packed light brown sugar

Optionals

Dried cranberries - you can add these before you bake and it won't dry them out too much but if you want to keep them super juicy add afterwards.

Flax, Chia Seeds and/or Hemp Hearts - also not afraid to throw some of these in there. Especially the hemp hearts, go for it. I encourage it.

Method

1. Heat oven to 300 degrees F

2. Place oats, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, coconut, pecans, syrup, olive oil, sugar, and 1Tsp salt in a large bowl and mix until well combined. Spread granola mixture in an even layer on a rimmed baking sheet. Transfer to oven and bake, stirring every 10 to 15 minutes until granola is toasted, about 45 minutes.

3. Remove granola from oven and season with more salt to taste. Let cool completely before serving or storing in an airtight container for up to 1 month.
